We are a family of six so I am always looking for ways to cut our grocery costs. The one meat item I buy every single week is a 10lb bag of chicken thighs for $3.99-4.99. Most US grocery stores have them. This is how I feed us dinner for a week on that bag of meat plus about $10 extra for sides.

Day 1: Grilled chicken, baked sweet potato, green beans (take all the leftover meat off the bones, make bone broth from the bones) Day 2: Chicken and cabbage stir fry: saute cabbage and some shredded carrots, with onion and garlic on high heat. Add pepper and chicken after vegetables are soft. The sauce is either: honey and soy sauce, or peanut butter and soy sauce. Serve over rice. Day 3: Chicken and gravy with mashed potatoes and peas. I make the gravy from chicken bullion and thicken it with flour. Day 4: Chicken Fajitas Day 5: Vegetable soup made from the bone broth.
