I know this is weird, but hear me out. I am building a motorized bicycle and I am currently working on the lighting, And I want to use 5v usb battery packs for simplicity. But, all automotive lights are 12v, including the one I want to use: http://ift.tt/2f4UPxa originally planned on just rewiring it so that I could use 5v with it, but that showed to be too complicated because of how its wired. Basically I would have to rewire the whole entire light onto a new pcb. So... I was looking into a voltage step-up converter to take the 5v at 2amps and switch it into 12v to run the lights. But first am I going to run into problems using a converter like this: http://ift.tt/2gNGkle what will the downfalls of this be? is it effecient enough or will it drain my batteries real quick? will it catch me and my bike on fire?thanks for the help in advance. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2f580yc
