I recently moved and have upgraded my bookcase/display case from Walmart's to Ikea's Billy bookcase.For the Walmart bookcase, I fashioned a ghetto "tier" system for each shelf, like so. That tier was made from two spare pickets screwed together and stained.I was thinking about just getting a 5"x4"x12' post and cutting it to 30" segments and painting them. The problem with that is I don't know where to get one. Home Depot has 6"x4" but I'm unsure if they'll cut lengthwise.The biggest drawback is that I'm in a sub 700sqft apartment so I don't have any power tools or anything besides a drill, so I can't really do much with regards to cutting. Hands as are an option, but I don't trust myself enough for a straight cut.Anybody have any ideas? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2eMbJUx
