Okay so the trunk of my Tc is oxidized and I've been wanting to fix it for the longest time. Here are the following supplies that I have:High-Build primer surfacer1k Color matched base coat2k ClearcoatNow, as you can see from my recent posts, my first time painting my car hood came out terrible and I want to make sure I don't make that mistake again. These are the steps I plan on doing, someone please tell me if I have the right process in mind.Wash debris off trunk lid and apply wax/grease removerMask the trunk lid of courseWet sand with 220 Grit to get rid of oxidized paint and then clean off the surfaceApply 3-4 coats of primer waiting 10-15 minutes between each coatLet primer dry for an hour, apply guide coat and sand (or wetsand?) with 600 grit until smoothClean off trunk lid (should I apply wax and grease remover again or no?)Apply a light first base coat and then apply 2-3 more coats afterLet base coat dry/cure overnight and apply 3-4 coats of clear coatIs there anything wrong with my process or am I good to go? I don't want to mess up the car I actually use for work/school and want to make sure I get everything right. Thanks!Extra question: Would this process also apply to repainting my rear bumper cover? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2gPkzkV
