Metal stocks tanked lower on Wednesday’s intraday trade amid positive market sentiments pushing the markets to trade higher. Metal stocks namely Tata Sponge Iron slipped 0.71% at Rs 914 per share, Kalyani Steels dipped 1.06% at Rs 425.10 per share, Hindalco Industries slipped 1.19% at Rs 248.10 per share, Mahalaxmi Seamless slipped 3.81% at Rs 5.30 per share and Ess Dee Aluminium slipped 7.48% at Rs 42.05 per share on BSE at 1211 hours.
On yearly basis, Tata Sponge Iron has given 55.41%, Kalyani Steels has given 26.56% returns, Hindalco has given 76.07% returns while Mahalaxmi Seamless has lost 5.86% and Ess Dee Aluminium lost 31,47%.
Meanwhile, BSE Metal index slipped in trade by 0.80% or 113 points at 14,076 level majorly contributed by Vedanta and Hindalco.
Vedanta is trading lower by 1.12% at Rs 326.70 per share followed by Hindalco down 1.31% at Rs 247.80 per share.
