Hey all. I’m not entirely sure this is the best place to ask this, but it’s definitely finance related and I could use some help.
Just a quick bit of background, my job has a very loose “corporate” structure with an HR department and a compliance hotline, but my immediate bosses essentially have free reign over how they treat their employees and constantly enact favoritism, push people out of the company by unethical means, and change rules and policies when and where they see fit to defend themselves.
The situation I’m in is that I had to take off for a week because of an increasingly painful injury and the closest doctors appointment I could get was a week out from the first day I had to call in. I got a doctors note covering the days that I missed and I put in for the sick time that I should have received, but my pay stub came in and shows that they shorted me the hours that I had requested.
When I called and asked about it they said that I did not follow “proper call in procedure” even though it was excused and after calling HR, they said they could not help me either, and it was up to my immediate managers.
I have proof though that I followed the procedure to the letter and that my manager lied to HR for each of the days that I missed and I’m not sure how to proceed to get the money that I am owed.
It’s a huge difference in what I’m supposed to make each pay period and I have NO idea how I am supposed to pay my bills this month, so any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated.
TL;DR: Called out of work and got a doctors excuse, boss lied to HR and said I did not, I have proof but I also have no money until it gets sorted out. Help!
