I am heading on a 9 day trip to Alaska and am looking to protect myself against steady all day downpours while backpacking, hiking, ice climbing, etc. While I do not want to spend $200, I could. I have all of the other gear needed and will be using gift cards from work to make the purchase. I want to make sure I comfortable and enjoying the outdoors rain or shine.
I'll be in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve during this trip.
I honestly do not expect rain pants to be buy it for life, but I am trying to find durable rain pants that will not tear easily on brush/limbs/rocks. These rain pants may also be used as lightweight ski pants (thermals underneath), long weekend backpacking trips where a storm may pop up, and soaking wet football games - season ticket holder.
