My parent's investment advisor is well, not doing anything. He has been diagnosed with parkinsons and haven't managed portfolios for some time. All assets have been in the same funds for years without being supervised yet their fee is still being taken each year for actively managing. The continuing education that is required for keeping their licences is being done by a person other than him.
They are so bad that they are unable to respond to emails. Someone else is replying. I have heard rumors of their decline but have seen it first hand now when I was in with my parents. He blames the outward indicators of the illness on nerve damage. Who do you contact about this? My elderly parents have their retirement here and they have been losing money after the fee for managing has been taken. How do you not make a dime on 3 million dollars under management?!? I feel ill about this. I feel bad for the guy but he's been lying to my parents, his clients. I don't know where to go and my parents are worried about their money if he knows they have complained. I just don't know how to help them.
