I just graduated in May, as a computer engineer. I accepted a government position to start off as Help Desk Technician making 35k salary start, and i think i get bumped to 40k in the next 3 months. Let's assume I don't. I work 8:30 to 4:15 Mon-Friday, with a total break time of 90 minutes allowed.
I decided to move out, I'm paying 700/mo rent, 100/mo est. utilities.
I'm budgeting $40 dollars a month for food.
I just financed a car, it's 551 a month for 60 months. Insurance is 224 a month for a 6 month period.
Student loans are 200 a month.
My biggest mistake was probably financing that car. I probably could have gotten something cheaper, or waited and paid my dad 200 a month to use his car for now. I'm now thinking of getting a second job nearby my current place or apartment to make 400 to 800 more a month. Probably a waiter or busser or something. How fucked am I? What should I do?
