The recent Planet Money episode about commodities trading piqued my interest and I was wondering if anyone has insight as to how accessible commodities trading is for common retail investors. Can anyone bid and sell contracts on various commodities, or would it be more through other instruments such as ETFs? Is it a cut throat game that should be avoided by novices, or are there inefficiencies that could be exploited even by common retail investors?
