I'm adding layers to my second story floor - currently there's a single layer of plywood subfloor so I plan on adding two more layers of 3/4 inch plywood with green glue between each layer. I know I'm going to be screwing each additional layer into the layer below it, not into the joists, using one and a quarter inch screws so that I don't penetrate all the way through the layer below. Do I still need to do the standard spacing - 6 inches around the perimeter and 8 in in the field?Also, what is the best/easiest/quickest way to maintain the 1/8" gap between sheets? Should I just stand up nails between the sheets, and then pull them out? I'm guessing H Clips aren't used for flooring? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2v82Mb0
