My mom is 68 years old and was laid off just before Christmas right after a neck surgery. She was employed for the same company for about 20 years. Long story short, the owner passed away and the company now belongs to his son who has no clue how to run a business and took it upon himself to lay off his highest paid employees - one being my mom who was still out of work recovering from surgery (yes, a lawyer was spoken to and there isn't much she can do).

She was recently told by her doctor that she will now need another surgery which is way more invasive and requires more downtime. This really put a damper on her finding a job anytime soon.

She has been taking care of my grandma for over a year now as well and is struggling not only physically but financially. I am really hoping to find her a job where she can work from home part time while she is at home with my grandma. Her funds are limited and her retirement account was majorly affected by the stock market crash years ago.

I have been working so hard at work to help support her but am still struggling to support myself. Does anyone have any advice on how I can help or have any good recommendations for part time jobs where she can work from home? Most work from home jobs I find are extremely shady. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!!
