I am in my early 20's and recently got a different job while working at Walmart. For this reason I will be quitting in the next few weeks. However, I have a measly ~$1,000 in my 401k at this point. I figured I will only get about 1/2 of that when withdrawing, and I feel no real point in leaving it since school is putting a huge strain on me financially.
My question is, are there any real risks in withdrawing at this point, with so little in my 401k? Will I take a huge hit when filing my taxes this year or next? I've basically ruled out rolling over to my new job, mainly because it's a student position (and I don't plan on being a student forever, even if it feels like I will be). Any other tips are welcomed!
