I've been at the same company for 1.5 years now in an entry-level HR role. I've been out of Uni for 2 years now. I didn't negotiate my starting pay because I was so desperate to get out of my previous job. Lesson learned. I started out making $45k in this role (fairly average for this position) and during EOY, our 2% payout was not quite 2%, maybe 1.7%? Either way, I ended up receiving about .22 cents more. Then my co-worker got promoted and I was left to cover my role and theirs for 2 months. My boss worked with comp in March to get me an extra $1600 given the fact that I did 2 jobs for 2 months. This was great, I didn't even have to ask. I also recently planned our entire 2-day team offsite. During this time, to replace my co-worker, they hired someone who has 20+ years of experience and after 3 months is still barely keeping up. I feel like my boss is finally beginning to see these red flags as well. This has led to a lot of frustration and too much time training them, etc. I receive a lot of praise from my boss and hers regarding how much they appreciate me and appreciate my stepping up to help out my (who I feel to be) incompetent coworker.

I am currently job searching anyway as this role is a great entry-level stepping stone and currently my company doesn't have any roles open that I could fill at the moment, but until then I'd like to be compensated appropriately.

However, given all this praise and how I still enjoy this role, ideally, I'd like to ask for another $1.25/hr but is this unreasonable? Am I asking too much? What suggestions do you have? Thanks in advance!
