So I opened a CD account about 6 years ago. Because I was a minor at that time, I had to open it with my dad. Things aren't great at home so I need to close my account so I have full control of my money if I need to use it. Unfortunately, the bank has told me that I need my dad's permission to close it/ he has to do it because I was a minor at that time. So basically it's his account, just underneath my name. I asked my dad to do it, but he's flat out refused to because he knows that it's my rainy day money if things keep getting worse at home (which they are). And I'm currently in the grace period so I won't be charged any fees. The money in the CD account is mine, not his. He convinced me to open an account when I was 16 and I obviously didn't know it would end up biting me in the ass 6 years later. Is there anything I can do?

P.S. It's a CD account with Capital One. It's not the 360 CD Account. They don't have any information about the specific CD account online anymore since there's a new one that they advertise instead
