I live in SW FL and my single car garage is pretty much unusable from May - October, and some of the day in the winter as well. It was pushing 96 degrees in there last week while my dad and I reinforced some wood shelving on the walls.Trying to find a cheap way to cool it down a bit so its at least a little bearable for the occational day i want to do some work out there (like 2-3 days a month). The house was built in 1956, low roof so the beams/roof are exposed as the ceiling of the garage - one side its maybe 6" to the roof, other side is probably 12-16" as its slanted. Exposed concrete block on both sides. The garage is also open into the slim attic over the rest of the house (only uses chicken wire in the 12" openings)We have one window at the back of the garage - Would a window A/C unit in there do anything to cool it down? I recognize it wouldn't keep the temperature steady and would need to probably run it a few hours before venturing in there - but would it do anything at all? Thanks in advance for any advice! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2v6vGIN
