I've checked the older posts on this and feel we need a new one since tech is outdated pretty quickly.
Some key features I think would be good:
- does not overwrite until a minimum of 24 hours of recording has been done
- timestamp
- records location and speed
- can be mounted discreetly (preferably behind the rear-view mirror)
- can withstand extreme temperatures (live in northern US)
- stores data in some sort of cloud (in case of theft/destruction in a severe enough accident) -- ideally I could have access to a month's worth of footage online...
- ability to clearly record license plates and people's faces
- still somewhat of a wide angle
- records while the car is parked as well/motion activated in case of delinquent passersby
Is there anything like this? What are you folks using these days?
