I currently own 8 shares of VTI since before the most recent ex-dividend date and I know it has a dividend-yield percentage of 1.84%. So would I, given this percentage and knowing the current price is $125.05 for a share, go (.0184 *125.05) * (8) = $18.41 paid out over 4 quarters roughly? Ofc this is not accounting for share-price changes over the quarters.
