Some basic background: I'm not a complete beginner in that I have a Masters in Econ, I can read financial statements and I understand options, futures, etc and I understand the basic options strategies (straddle, iron condor, etc.). However, I have never really traded before and I want to do it because I'm way, way too risk-averse in my everyday life and I want to learn to be a little bit more "brave". I have financial stability and can afford to lose a little bit, but I don't want to be stupid about it and I don't want to go in blind.

I'm starting my research by reading some books that are recommended on here, and I'm coming across what is apparently different terms for different styles of investing like growth investing, momentum investing, value investing, algo trading, and so on. How did you guys decide which strategy to take? What kind of investors are you? Have you tried any other styles?
