Hi /r/personalfinance,

I'll get right to it.

Would like to upgrade my transportation from nothing to a '99-03 Jeep Wrangler. In Austin, TX that costs $6,500-$7,500

I'm currently taking the bus or car2go to work and back every day. Costs for this are approx. $95/month, would be eliminated if I bought a car.

Making $3100/month after taxes in Texas.

Have $1,500 in savings.

Paying $975/month in rent Paying $200/month on 25k of student loans Paying $80/month on $1000 PayPal Credit debt. No credit card debt.

Insurance will run me around $100/month. Approved for up to $7,500 auto loan from Nationwide at a 9% APR (throws up) Payments on the car would be something like $130-180/month over 48/60 months

Waddaya think? I'm sick and tired of not having a car, but I also like being able put something over $200/month into my savings. Plus it's summer and wranglers are sweet. Would it be financially responsible?

Thanks!
