My husband's employment has become unhealthy. He's working 80+ hour weeks on salary for a small business that is rapidly growing. The company is trying to stretch the employees until they hit the next level of growth. Coupled with an employee unexperienced with supply & demand and logistics, this job is stressing us both the fuck out. He has spent most of the last two weeks travelling. His job was not like this when he started.
I did the math, and realized that we save so much of our paychecks, that we can comfortably live off of my paycheck while he searches for work. At most, I think we may dip into our emergency account about $100 a month. I feel so relieved. Mainly, this is to brag. :)
But, if you were headed into the same situation, how would you handle the next two weeks?
Edited to add: Yes, he is giving at least two weeks notice. Maybe closer to a month. This is not a professional position. He works for a mobile beer canning operation, drives a truck and cans beer. He is good at his job, but his company is paying him pennies for the work they are doing. He is job searching, but he has no sense of his schedule from week to week. It's made it difficult to schedule interviews, prep or work on his website. For example, on Sat. night, he found out that he'd be out of town two days this week. Do you still think he shouldn't quit?
