While considering recently the items I own that are non-essential or burdensome in my life, one of the items that came across my mind is my bed and pillow. I love my bed and pillow no doubt, and I have no problems with sleep; however, thinking in the same vein as arguments for barefoot walking and running, that humans are trying to improve on millions of years of evolution which resulted in this finely tuned body and we're better off just using what was given to us, my question is, do we really need big cushy beds and pillows for sleeping? Has anyone here given up a bed in favor of a thinner ground mat or no mat at all, and how do you find it?
