There is lots here on phone plans in posts and in the FAQ but I am looking for advice on getting a new/used cell phone.
Previously when I lived in Europe, I had a Nexus 7 and really enjoyed android (not a phone obviously). I use a PC and stick to opensource or google products so it was nice that eveything connected well. When I moved to the states I was gifted a used iphone 5s. The transition was hard and the charger collection expensive. Now the phone is basically toast - it was really dead and I have managed to resurrect it 5 times but at this point it is apparently now in danger of exploding. I attempted to buy from craigslist but many people didn't write me back, the one person I met up with had me do a test call and it turned out it was locked because he had not paid off the phone yet through his old provider.
Do I pay the premium for an iphone now that I am invested in 4 cords? Do I switch to android (and which one doesn't suck)? Do I buy from CL or from my cell provider (t-mobile)? New from a shop? Can I really buy something from Amazon and trust it to work?
Please help. I haven't had a phone since forever and even then I had no experience with data, only talk and text. I just want my nexus 7 back but with a phone element. :(
