Please share your salary, location in NYC, and your monthly budget.
I am 22 and moving to NYC soon. I am trying to create a budget for myself but it's hard to gauge how expensive things in NYC are.
If anyone wants to critique mine please feel free, I need all the help I can get:
Salary: 130k/yr.
(about ~5900-6k month post-tax after 401k+other deductions)
Location: UES (probably)
- Rent: 2500
- Groceries: 400
- Restaurants/Eating out+Bars: 800
- Cell: 100
- Utilities: 200
- Gym: 80
- Transportation: 150
- Misc (clothing/personal care/dryclean/gifts/trips/etc): 450
- Investing: 1100
- Savings (MM act): 150

EDIT: Since people are wondering I'll be a software engineer at a large tech company. I was lucky enough to be recruited for a highly quantitative team so I'm getting geared up to be a quant developer in a year or two.
