I work in the service industry and much of my income is in cash tips (before I continue, I claim all tips on income tax statements). I keep my money in a secure location but one that is not a financial institution.
My Goal: deposit/invest this money into something that will make it work for me. I don't have enough time or knowledge about the stock market to risk that as a venture, but is there anything you guys known of that is easy and low maintenance? I must have access to the money at all times as I plan to use much of it for schooling. However, I plan to leave it alone for as long as possible. I would also like to be able to constantly add to the fund.
