This weekend I got a DUI. Long story short, after legal fees I'm looking at being 20k in the hole. My parents can't afford that, I have no savings, and I'm unemployed (and a suspension on my licence makes getting a job very hard). The place I live is very spread out and has no real public transport system, and I live in the suburbs. I graduate in a few days. I have no idea what to do right now, does anyone have any advice?
Edit: yes, the legal fees are way high. The reason for that is because there were some procedural issues that could get the case thrown, and the lawyer we're looking at would be our best bet. Yes, a public defender would be cheaper, but this guy could get me off. Also, that's what it should be including all the various fines and penalties there, so it's not just the cost of the lawyer.
