So im slowly building up my tool collection for use around the house and auto.
I don't work on these things daily, but when i do, I want to be able to have them.
Usually, I will just go to home depot to buy a cheap set of whatever I need, but I am thinking about starting slowly and get quality tools at prices i can afford.
I have read that USA and German made products are the best, and prices seem to match it.
My thing is that im a sucker for quality and customer service over price. I tend to spend more because of those two reasons, even for something that can be easily replaceable by other things.
I'd like to make a list for myself and maybe others of a couple of things.
- Tools that I should buy in good quality
- Tools I can go cheaper on
- Tools that I should regularly have around the house or in car.
- Tools that I can buy in sets.
So far I have a few good products that i have found great or fair prices for.
- m18 fuel drill/ driver
- milwaukee driver bit set
- Norseman 29 pc HI-Molybdenum M7 Drill Bit Set
- Random hammer
- random screwdrivers
- milwaukee general 25 ft measuring tape
- ifixit pro toolkit
Here are some tools that i need to get.
- mechanics tool set? I was thinking about getting a small set, or should i buy them separately in better quality? If so, which brands for someone who works on there car maybe once a month... but i also share tools with my FIL?
- pocket knife, I really really want this benchmade 940-2
- Does anyone have any other ideas or must have tools for basic home and auto repair?
Thanks for reading!
TL;DR - building up my tool collection for home and auto, need some suggestions. And i like to make lists.
