House foreclosed in July 2010. The first mortgage was satisfied (NC is a no-recourse state) and went away. The second mortgage continues to bill as if nothing has happened. I wrote them once and pointed out that the house was foreclosed and they wrote back saying that second mortgages just convert to an unsecured loan, and they intend to collect. I guess they were serious about collecting, because I'm now 2,696 days delinquent: http://ift.tt/2nzbZ7u
Shouldn't they have given up by now? I last paid them October 2009. It seems like any sane lender would have sent this to collections already.
Both mortgages were from shady sub-prime lenders, and I wonder if they're deliberately not sending this to collections to make their numbers look better; I imagine they had a LOT of delinquent mortgages after 2008.
Can they just continue to bill until I die? Seems like a waste of paper.
