Is it likely? Can getting rid of a smartphone be a step to improving yourself? Or would it be pointless? Look, I'm going to describe myself quickly. I've a guy in college who doesn't have friends and sucks with girls due to having crap social skills. I play lots of video games, watch TV, and spend a lot of time on the phone going through social media. Suffer from lots of low self esteem and no confidence whatsoever.
But I've been slowly trying my best to get out of this hole I've dug my self in. Been weightlifting. I'm going to begin reading stuff about politics and religion to become smarter (been reading Economics in One Lesson. Great read).
And I've been wondering, what would happen to me if I got like a Blackberry or something rather than the next IPhone?
Here's the pros that I see: - no pornography - no more lurking through people's pages on social media - maybe the lack of phone will force me to do stuff I would otherwise not do - maybe better for my eyesight in the long run - simply not being a typical person who spends their time on their phones when they're with people - limited self pity posts on Reddit haha
But the thing is, will those things actually happen? Would it be pointless?
Reason I'm not believing is because, there's plenty of people out their who are confident and have high self esteem, lots of friends, and go on dates, and they also use their smartphones a lot.
So why would not having a smartphone make me be like them?
