Hi,
My family runs a restaurant business. Like most restaurants, it generates a lot of cash. They keep a big portion of that cash tucked away (and presumably don't pay taxes on it).
My family is thinking of buying a house, and they've asked if I can help them cash in some of that money -- they want to give me tens of thousands of dollars to deposit into my bank account, and I will then write them a check.
I'm afraid I'm putting myself at risk, but I'm not savvy enough to really know what's up. Please advise.
