As the title states.
I used to work a standard job, but took a break to raise children. I tried to renter the workforce a few years ago, but it was a stressful nightmare. The kids daycare wasn't helpful with homework (even though they were supposed to help with it), my schedule was hectic and I didn't see my family much, and after childcare expenses I was bringing home a pittance that wasn't worth the stress (roughly $2 an hour).
I want to work from home, so I can have a flexible schedule and still be able to see my family and help my kids. One has a developmental delay, so they really need the extra help. If I was able to work from home and not be burdened with childcare, even minimum wage would be more than I made before. Lastly, we got a new home and now finding a job will likely mean driving between 30-60 miles round trip every day I work. It would be anything but simple living.
I see a lot of folks here say they work from home, how do you do it? Other than spot jobs here and there the last few years writing for blogs (for maybe if I'm lucky $100 a month) I haven't found anything that looks promising or legit.
I don't have family or friends to babysit for free on a side note, and my partners schedule isn't one where we can alternate shifts. Since they make so much more money than I could, it's counter productive for them to cut hours so I can bring home a tiny amount of money that works out to a net loss for our home.
My kids are school age so working during school hours would be ideal.
