I have read in multiple books that good advice is essential for a successful investment portfolio. I recently sought the advice of a financial planner who outlined his qualifications, fee structure and a few basic strategy points. They have offered to develop a detailed plan that goes through my circumstance with a fine tooth comb in order to provide presumably a more effective investment strategy. They quoted $3800 which seemed quite high but within reasonable price range for Australia.
For people that have invested this much in financial advice, is it worth it?
