I've only recently discovered this sub - and it has already changed the way I think about making purchases. In fact the other day I spent hours pouring through the backpack threads here because i've recently come to a point where I need to upgrade my pack. The GoRuck2 looks like the main contender for my needs, I only wish it had a sleeve on the back of it so I could put it over a rollaboard handle in an airport.
TLDR; Rugged travel watch that doesn't need charge and a digital nomad, rugged, large travel backpack.
Request #1 however, is not a backpack - it is a travel watch. I work and travel overseas (from the USA) a lot and I need to find a good, rugged, long lasting, watch that will stand up to that. Right now I'm writing this from a camp in the Amazon. I need a watch that looks good, doesn't need to be charged (like the Fitbit or apple watch I have at home) that will be able to take a beating on a climb, or in a forest, or get submerged considerably. I used to have, and loved, a couple of GSHOCK watches. (One I found in Iraq and wore for a good 6 years afterward). After my last GSHOCK died I tried opening it to replace the battery - the raunchiest of smells emerged from that encased housing. It was so bad. I wound up botching the battery replacement and now I find myself with a bear bare arm.
Request #2, if you're feeling generous today, is to revive the backpack thread. I mentioned above that I'm looking at the goruck2 after reading a couple of posts here. My IDEAL backpack is one that meets carry-on size limitation, has a large (oversized) laptop sleeve for 15-17" laptops, has a large enough capacity (30-40L) to be a solo bag for Digital Nomad lifestyle, has a sleeve to fit over a rollerbag handle in the event I'm traveling with two bags, is lockable, and to some degree has weather resistant material construction. The GoRuck2 meets my needs on size and laptop storage and materials, but if there is something else I should be considering that more closely conforms to my ideal bag specs, I'd appreciate your input
