Through my electric utility I receive 50 "shopping dollars" per month to spend through their rewards program. I'm not sure if you can see the "store" at http://ift.tt/2kq20AB if you don't have an account activated, but they have a pretty wide range of items from electronics to clothes, in addition to discounts on car rentals and gift cards. The issue is you can only use a set amount of "shopping dollars" on each item, set by the program, so it doesn't seem to me like I can get anything truly free.
Just wondering if anyone else has experience with programs like this and whether it truly is worthless like I am inclined to think (other than possibly the "daily deal" item) or whether anyone has a strategy for actually utilizing the shopping dollars to either get something worthwhile or somewhat easily convertible to cash.
