I am posting here since I don't see any other sub which is appropriate for this query.

I am moving from my current location to another location less than 200 miles away. I plan to use some moving company as I am not comfortable moving myself or driving a UHaul. It won't be a full service move, as in, I plan to do all the packing myself of the items that can be fit inside boxes. The bigger furniture / mattress etc would be moved by the moving people.

I am looking an options of getting some good quality boxes for the move. My company pays for the move upto a certain amount (not sure, probably $2500-$3000) and I may be able to claim the money I spend on boxes too. I went and looked at the Lowes Boxes and I liked the heavy duty ones as they feel more sturdy. I checked online (nearest HD is 10 miles away) and Homedepot too has heavy duty boxes but those are taller compared to lowes which are wider. But the capacity seems same. So if I am fixed between one of these 2 heavy duty boxes, which one should I get ? Lowes or HD ? Do the movers prefer the wider boxes or the taller one? I think it may be taller as it can be easier to use on their hand trucks / carts and such but I am not sure. I have never moved in the US before so no idea.

Also any tips when packaging my stuff ? I was planning on getting some of those free USPS priority boxes and put stuff inside and put those boxes inside the large lowes / HD box. I feel the box inside the box approach (as far as possible) will be a reliable way to package things but I may be wrong.

I know many people would be suggesting the Liquor boxes or grocery / fast food boxes but I want the main boxes to be of same size so it is easier for the movers to carry and are stack-able easily. Even if my company doesn't compensate for the boxes, I would still prefer getting good quality boxes then risk my items getting damaged. Any idea if the standard UHaul boxes are double walled or not (Large ones are little shy of $2).
