So I filled out my FAFSA (this is my first time doing it) and I was awarded 2,181. I noticed that the disbursement date is February 28 and my tuition is due now. How does this work? (I am so confused and the financial aid office only responds with practically one word answers, its maddening.) Should I pay my tuition now and then do they reimburse you later? I noticed that the financial aid information on the colleges website said that any money not applied to tuition could be used as book credit or could be sent to the student via check. The next layer to this question is that AFTER I filled out my FAFSA but before I found out that I was awarded money I found out that my employer does tuition reimbursement for employees for 100% of tuition after the class is completed and you prove that the grades meet a certain standard, but does not cover any fees, books, ect. Also there is a work commitment that you must agree to. I applied for the tuition reimbursement but have not heard back whether I was approved or rejected. I am assuming that I will have to inform my employer that I was awarded the pell grant, am I correct in that assumption? Or can I pay my tuition now (credit card) and then use the Pell grant for books and fees and collect the tuition assistance from my employer and get the check for the remaining pell money? I am assuming this is illegal but like I said I am kinda confused about the whole thing
