So I stayed at a hotel last night (booked last minute, so it was a little more expensive than it could have been). We decided to stay another night, and checked the price online. We brought up that the rate was cheaper for the same type of room at the same hotel on the website we used (trivago, but I'm sure others would work as well) and instead of being charged the same, last-minute rate, we got it lowered to the rate on the site.
I'm not sure if this would work with reservations already made, but it's worth a try.
