Hello, I have been a public govt employee for the first time for about a year and a half now, and I don’t know much about my PERA retirement acct. I have run into some financial constraints, as I am currently going through a divorce. It would be helpful if I could take like $2,000 from my retirement account if at all possible, but I am reading some conflicting things online. There is about $12,000 in my PERA retirement acct. Am I able to take a withdrawal from my PERA retirement acct similar to taking a withdrawal from a 401k (early withdrawal penalty/taxes)? Thank you so much in advance!
