My friend was air evacuated out of a Caribbean country to the states after a serious car accident. ICU in TX for a week and has Missouri Medicaid. Texas hospital is saying it doesn’t transfer and she’s cash pay nothing they can do. Likely tens of thousands if not more $$. Being told from others that it does transfer in an emergency, anyone you know we can talk to? Please if anyone can help any advice 🙏
Edit: She did have travel insurance but everything with that is “pay first and try to get reimbursed later” so the family has paid 80k out of pocket to get her to the states.
