So embarrassed to make this post to tbh. Combination of poor teeth genetics and bad oral hygiene, I am facing a mountain of dental expenses the next few months.
- $4.5K for Endodontics work (retreat + APICO + anesthesia).
- $13.1K treatment plan for 2 teeth extractions, implant, bridge work, flapper(s), and 2 crowns. What a mouthful, literally.
- Estimated copay of $5,800 for all 4 visits.
- Sorry I'm new to this dental insurance jargon - does this mean the remainder ~$7,300 I'm on the hook for out-of-pocket? $1500/yr max also
I grew up never having dental insurance or financial support from family, so now that I have a decent job I did not hesitate to inquire about my teeth. It's my absolute LEAST favorite feature of myself and want to change it so badly.
A few things about me:
- 25M, $83K/yr. Emergency savings of $4K that I really don't want to touch.
- Delta Dental PPO. $1500/yr max.
- Student loans $25K
- Car loan $14K
- Rent: $600/mo.
I would love some guidance on what to do here... will have to go into debt or inquire about a loan possibly to do this op. Convinced this will be the right choice for my confidence as well...
