My son is 18, he is not going to college and has started a new job at a factory in town. I have no desire to push him out of the house and we’ve had several discussions regarding his finances.
I don’t see any way for him to succeed financially long term if he moves out on his own even in the next couple of years. I’ve encouraged him to live with me and we can work together to build something for the future for him.
Even in our small town the median rent is 950 for a 2 br. 750 for 1 br. Kid is making about 15 an hour. I just don’t know how anyone can expect to succeed long term without help from someone.
