Basically what the title says. My husband owes $ 20K in debit. $13,000 on a car he never paid on and $7,000 to snap on tools. This was 2019. What do we do? I married my husband in 2021 but this all happened when he was with his ex. We make together $51K a year. We’re living paycheck to paycheck. I have not the slightest clue what to do. I was thinking bankruptcy but if we did get the money to pay it off, would it even matter now? Do we pay to collections and will it help his credit any? Bc rn his credit is below 500’s. A lot has changed since then and I handle of finances. He was young, in abusive relationship when all this was going on and it really screwed him. Please someone just help or explain what we can do. We also have 2 kids so it’s already hard enough out here lol. Just tryna to fix this and prepare our future.
