So I've vested quite a few stocks of my company and figure I might as well sell calls for extra passive income. However my company has an insider trading policy where any options have to be dated 6 months out and get legal team approval.
So I'm not aware of any material non public information. I'm not trading based on any insider knowledge and I don't fall under my companies trade window restrictions.
I don't think there's anything legally (or morally) wrong with me selling weekly/monthly calls, but it's against my employers trading policy.
Is it a terrible idea to go through with this? Will they know I'm making these trades? Can there be any ramifications beyond getting fired?
