Alright guys here’s my situation.

I worked at a country club for 7 years. Signed up for a 401K program. Forgot about it. Got a new job. You had to be there for a year to apply for the program. I joined at a weird time and missed the deadline.

I joined mid 2021. I opened my account from my previous job (on an iPhone app) empowerment retirement. I have nearly $10K in the app (I’m 29).

We had a meeting at my current job. These guys flew in from NY to Texas. Small crowd like 8 people there.

I explained my situation and both guys said “no clue maybe ask your HR rep?”

I was told to go to the meeting and ask them.. I know my company dropped a lot of money hiring a financial group to manage our 401K. We have their numbers and also get free financial advice.

At my old job they automatically selected a plan based on our income and retirement year. This new company said we have to choose our investment plan and figure it out for ourselves but they can consult us.

For me, the fact that these people don’t know how to transfer/roll over my previous 401K doesn’t make me trust them with my future. Am I overreacting here? How would I roll over the funds?

My company matches up to 4% also. I emailed them 3 days ago and never received a response.
