My grandma made a revocable living trust with my dad and uncle being the successors. My grandma and dad have passed away and I received a call from lawyer saying my uncle is in the hospital very close to death. The lawyer asked me to be the trustee. The trust includes 2 houses that the lawyer is saying are being sold, so I should be appointed trustee. He said the funds would be deposited for probate after the sales. Is this something I want to get involved in?

Edit: I know that was very vague, I apologize, im on mobile. So, a few months ago I received a summons from my uncle petitioning to be named trustee in my grandma's revocable trust. My grandma passed in 2014. My uncle and my dad were named successors to the trust. my dad passed back in 2020. The lawyer says they have buyers for my grandma's homes, the one she lived in (which my uncle currently lives in) and the one she bought my dad and his family (my mom, sister and myself). My uncle is now apparently dying in the hospital so the lawyer asked if I would be trustee. I had been told they could not find a will even though I recall my grandma talking about having one. I was basically raised by my grandma so we were quite close and she would disclose certain things about who was named in her will and who was getting what so I find it odd that they can't find it when she was fairly organized for being a slight hoarder (she kept every newspaper...) I know she had a few different accounts and a security deposit box, she wasn't the stock market type unless my uncle started getting involved, not sure what else she could have as she was very minimal being a child of the Great Depression. I would rather the properties not be sold because those are my childhood homes, I grew up in both as they were walking distance from each other. I'd imagine I would be a beneficiary but without the a will, I guess that would be up to the state? Missouri btw. So would I even need to get involved or just let probate do it's thing?
