Someone help me out here and don’t judge please I’m new to this stuff.
I just turned 18 and was trying to make an online bank account in secret because my controlling parents have stolen money from me out of a joint account. They also wont let me get my license and barely allowed me to get a part time job. I finally managed to get one though.
But they also have taken my phone which I haven’t seen in almost half a year now which is important here.
I made an account with ally bank and used my confiscated phone number to sign up. I was able to get in once without 2 factor authentication but now they want my phone number for me to log in. I’ve been panicking and trying to log in through my laptop for 2 days because I can’t access my phone.
Today ally bank sent me a notice in my email but I don’t know what it said because I can’t get into my account.
Now my question is, would this register as fraud for ally bank? Does it seem suspicious tht I know all my info and was able to make an account but I tried multiple times to log in and never input a phone number? i never deposited any money on the account.
But is this suspicious and would this go in ChexSystems and prevent me from making bank accts in the future???
I’ve decided to just let the empty account sit until I somehow gain access to my phone or get to a bank in person and create a new account but I’m just SO worried that this looks like something bad from an outsider perspective.
