I have always been a long term big picture investor. I started a subscription to Barron’s in the early Covid days- of course everything everyone suggested to buy made money back then.
However after that initial boom I realized-
1- most of their “stock picks” ended up in some data scraping website ( I.e no exclusivity everyone has access to it) short term price bump
2- a lot of info was primarily news reporting- not insight- all after the fact. What I want- “ we’ve got our eyes on this small company called xyz they are mostly in texas but ….”
Instead most reports are-“ wow out of no where this company just grew!!! We had no idea!! Their stock has already doubled and if they capture market share in the remaining countries at war with us their stock will go up 200%”
3- any articles with the guise of insight was plain wrong- look up their picks on ENPH and olaplex and we what happened the next week.
A- am I just using their information the wrong way?
B- are there newsletters that pick with long term horizons?
