I was wondering if the looming government shutdown would result in a good time to buy, but, apparently, on average, shutdowns have had little impact on the market. Uncharacteristically, the most recent shutdown in 2019 actually resulted in a 10% increase in the S&P 500, but all previous shutdowns had little effect either way.
