The S&P 500 has grown approx. 80% in the last 5 years whereas the S&P 500 Information Technology sector ETF has grown approx. 140%
I am in my mid 20 and am thinking to invest some lump-sum. My question would be to take less risk (S&P 500) or more risk and more gain (IT sector) since IT sector is only growing in the last 5 years. I know some of you would say past performance is not an indicator for future performance but it seems to me that the IT sector is the only sector to grow from now on by far, the other ones grow much less.
