Hi, I got very helpful information in my last post, hoping you can help me again.
I inherited a non-spousal traditional IRA from my parent, which is now in a Schwab Inherited IRA. They have the money invested in 14 separate ETF's / Funds. I want to sell it all and then just put all of it in SWVXX.
I want to do this because I am in my 50's, not experienced or interested in trading at this time, and just want a safer place for the money to live while having liquidity. I do not want to pay an investment advisor to do this.
The Schwab trade page is intimidating. Is there a simple way to sell everything? When I reviewed an order I was going to place, I selected "sell all" (of one fund), and selected "market" in the drop down. The current market value is $3,500 but the estimated sale price was only $1,700, so I canceled it.
I tried this same procedure with another fund. Market value is $35,000 and it would give me about $34,700. These funds are nearly all a little in the red so this made sense, but the first one I tried does not make sense to me.
Can someone help point me in the right direction to figure out how to safely sell all 14 funds so I can turn around and buy SWVXX?
Thank you a lot.
EDIT TO ADD: Some of the best advice I've received from both my posts hasn't been a direct answer to my question (s), but rather a more macro view of what I need to understand, consider, and [actual] first steps as a new recipient of an Inherited IRA.
I appreciate how helpful people have been to me, and not a single troll! Thank you a lot!
